So, you are a tech-kid?
"Everybody owns a handphone, every household owns a computer."
That is a sweeping remark, but one too true for any smarties to disagree. I cannot deny that there are poor families in our society, whom are really struggling to make ends meet, but in this age, technology IS a part of our daily life. And no, I don't mean the televisions; the discmans, I meant the HDTVs; the mp3 players. Technology is growing at a massively exaggeratedly monstrous rate, and this has caused repercussions. It is plain stupid for a product to become obsolete a few months after launch, but isn't that what is happening in our dear handphone market? Ridiculous prices for ridiculous technology; the mentality of 'consumers are willing to pay for what they want' is very wrong. What is the price of a PS3? Spare me.
The main objective of technology and gadgets is to improve the quality of life. No matter which way you see it, it is still along the lines of help; assist; improve; convenience; effectively; and maybe earn insane profits. Emails are certainly easier to reach customer service and government bodies now. (Excuse me, before I continue, allow me to read through again what I have written so far, just in case) The huge volume of blog users have also mean that anything written on blogs are no longer personal like a diary, and a blogger is liable to be sued should he had written anything sue-able.
Before I end my post, I hope everyone who is reading this post can take some time to think about the following scenario. Imagine you are quite old, say 70. You are illiterate, definitely computer illiterate, and you don't own or know how to use a handphone, you are tech savvy. You probably only know that machines that play music are called radios. (What the hell is mp3?) It is heart wrenching.
But this is what is happening to the older generation now. These pioneers we are indebted to, our very own grandmas and grandpas, have been forgotten from our oh-so-technologically-advanced society.
