Friends
I look up the definition of friend in Cambridge Dictionaries Online, it states: a person whom you know well and whom you like a lot, but who is usually not a member of your family. We all have friends, lots of them. You know them through school, work, friends, common interests, etc. There will be some whom are just acquaintance, there will be some whom you might never ever meet again for the rest of your life, there will be some whom you occasionally call out for the odd coffee or two, and of course some whom you call them - your bosom pals. I am fortunate I got to know some really great people.
Zhi Xiong and Zhi Wei(I think this is how their names are spelt) are my playmates from nursery to kindergarden! Shubri was a really good friend back in Primary School, unfortunately, being the childish 12 year old I was back then, I picked a few quarrels and we have not kept in contact since. I only knew he went on to Clementi Town. Weili treated me really well but we too hadn't kept in contact after he went on to Yusof Ishak. Shining was perhaps the best buddy I could wish for, for he was my longest-closest-best pal; since P1 til I turn 21. We always have the "mo-qi". From staying-overs; going each other's house up to 7 times a week, meeting up to a few times a day; to about year-long hiatus. And these happened without any conflict. He was just too busy for our mahjong, soccer, or clubbing sessions; he simply got to turn down all my invitations stretching up to a year(oh yes, I was angry then, but I ain't gonna be angry with a MoShen Ren now! that'd be stupid). Huachuan have been a great friend since Primary School too, and we still are, mind you. Oh, and I also have the "mo-qi" when I play cs with Huachuan. He is my best cs partner no doubt. We always knew where each other were and what each other were thinking. I knew Weijie and Junyu from Primary School but we really only became better friends during Secondary School days. Liang Zhong can be ranked as my closest aquaintance.
Weihao and Desmond Teo(I got a good friend later on named Desmond Tay) are my most-get-along Secondary School classmates. At one stage, Junhao and I shared a common interest corinthiansplc. Dennis(Desmond's twin), Yiwei & Weizhi are from NCC. 7 years after Tanglin, we are all still playing soccer together fortnightly! Zemin & Taiyuan too are friends I will never forget.
Junyi, Kelvin Chan(feels strange to just address him as Kelvin) & Weng Chong(Wayne) seems to like buildings. Nah, maybe not, they just happen to study DBPM. Wayne was perhaps a little "closer" since he accompanied me for 6 more months. Basket! Wayne also likes to play the disappearing act, he was virtually uncontactable until recently. Just pop up of nowhere to message me a "ORD lo!".
Through our friends, we are often introduced to their friends and thus expanded our friendship network. I knew quite a number of friend's friend as well. Nicholas(Shining and Liangzhong's poly classmate), Zon & many more. Although Zon have already left this world, but I am always thankful for his guidance and help. We had stints working together and going clubbing together(Yes, just the both of us). Chye Heng, Calvin, Yiyu, Long Wei & Ming Liang(D`GAME) are my fellow Reds. Gabriel, Nigel and Junqiu(this is getting complicated, he is my friend and he is also my friend: Takeshi's friend. And he happens to be my clubbing kaki. Wait, Spurs suck~) are csPROs. Jian Li is the 1st name on my mahjong attendance - either 3 leg or 4 leg.
Ah Huat is my BMT buddy; Jackson; was the most-get-alongable with me; Yingxian was the friendliest; & Chin Guan, my eventual clubbing kaki, was always helpful. While John is my poly classmate cum BMT platoon mate. And of course, my cab cum train kaki Jiahe! Ah, Mohawk was full of memories! Then I went on to know Xuan Kuan, Ken, Yoga, Hanboon(another of my clubbing kaki!), Ivan Lim & Melvin Kwek. Song Ting & Ivan Kong(salute him, he is the man! HE IS THE CHIU SHEN! MY SCORE! STRIKE! DEPENDS ON HIM!) are my sec sch mates whom have been ever so helpful when we got to know each other a little more in camp. And I can't thank my soccer kaki/camp/sec sch(again!) mate Lawrence enough for giving me a ride to camp almost every morning. Daniel Tan(Takeshi) was gullibly dumb. I got on pretty well with his dumber buddy Desmond Tay. Junhan was the idol while the potentially bully(able) Cho Zhi Seng(Daniel Cho) looks promising to fill the boots of Takeshi as each day grows. Although Peihon, Pak Loon & Yuhong was sacked, we used to have lots of laugh.
Other than friends, colleagues whom have been close friends at work during that couple of months might easily fall into the category of aquaintance.
This is not a meaningless entry written to kill time. The names mentioned played some part in my life and have been there for me at some stage. I have deliberately been conservative in only giving 2 names for my classmates during my 4 sec sch years, but this is to prevent too many names from sec sch being thrown in(that was suppose to be the "golden era" where we know lots of people, right?). Pardon me if I have left your name out, you have been special in some way but I just do not have the luxury of putting 50 or more names from the thousands and thousands friends/aquaintance. You might have played a big part in my life, but every name mentioned was thoroughly thought for it would undermine the importance and contributions of the others.
Now before you start thinking like most people do, and thought that I am a gay, since I have never had a girlfriend before(what's wrong? don't give me that skeptical look, I am just unwanted), I am going to clarify that I 100% like girls. I just happen to be duper shy therefore girls will find me extremely boring since I don't talk AT ALL when I am shy. And since that is the case, therefore I know very few girls: except my classmates.
But anyway, who cares! Why do I bother to type such a long entry anyway... who reads here anyway? Gabriel? Yooohooooo~~~ who else?!
